Osamequin Nature Preserve with Barrington Garden Club
Wednesday fall project series – 10 a.m. to noon: Oct 14, Oct 28 and Nov 11. Projects include trail maintenance, trail mapping, invasive plant management and litter cleanup, especially of plastics and other drift litter around the inlets. Meet at the main parking area.
Are you looking for a project for yourself or your group?
We have three construction projects: trail bridge resurfacing and new bridge construction at Veterans Memorial Park and refurbishing a bird viewing platform in need of step and railing repairs at Osamequin Nature Preserve. Invasive plant control is needed at many properties. The plant work is perfect for anyone who can spare an hour occasionally across the season. Many locations could use a helping hand. Bet there is one convenient to you! Or adopt your favorite spot!
For all projects, please dress for the day’s weather. Comfortable, closed shoes, long pants and long sleeves are recommended. Bug repellent is advisable year round for protection from insect borne diseases such as Lyme. Bring your favorite work gloves and loppers.
Anyone interested in any of the projects, with project questions or anyone who would like to be added to the Town Trails Team email list, please contact Helen Tjader at helen@acornnpsolutions.com or 401-480-8329.
