Join the Barrington Land Conservation Trust and Barrington Public Library for a documentary viewing and lecture on the ’38 hurricane and future hurricane preparedness.
On September 21, 1938 one of the most destructive and powerful hurricanes in recorded history struck Rhode Island. Local filmmaker, Carla Ricci will show her Emmy nominated short documentary, “One Day…A Story of a Storm” about how life can change without warning. Following the 18-minute film, Teresa Crean of the URI Coastal Resource Center will speak on how Rhode Island prepares for another major storm and the destruction it could bring.
This event is FREE and open to all. The facility has restrooms and is handicap accessible.
