The Barrington Land Conservation Trust owns and manages approximately 300 acres of protected land. In addition, our volunteers assist the town in caring for town-owned nature preserves. Many of the Land Trust’s properties have been donated by generous individuals who wished to preserve open space in Barrington. Other properties have been acquired through a combination of government funding, grants and charitable donations.
Our properties fall into three general categories:
Public Access Properties: These properties are open year-round to the public from dawn to dusk. Some have regularly maintained trails, while others are more rustic.
Limited Access Properties: These properties are accessible to the public only through guided nature walks by a Land Trust volunteer.
Conservation Only Properties: These properties have been preserved exclusively for their conservation value and are not accessible to the public. They are monitored and maintained by Land Trust volunteers.

When you click on a particular property, a box will pop up that shows basic information, including the link to the property website which will provide additional information. In the information box on the right, you can enter a specific property name and it will be highlighted on the map. You can also get a list of properties based on access level, parking availability and properties where leashed dogs are allowed.
