Spring Stewardship Projects
Thank you for participating on the Town Trail Team 2015. This is a quick reminder of this coming week’s projects at Ossamequin and some additional details on those projects at Veterans Memorial Park and Sowams Woods coming up over the next couple of weeks. Also, we are looking for a volunteer to lead a weekend litter cleanup at Veterans Memorial Park in May. If you are interested, please contact Helen Tjader at helen
Veterans Memorial Park
Projects will vary with weather conditions and grant progress. All projects will meet at the double trailhead kiosk just inside the entrance on the eastern side of Veterans Memorial Park. Park in the Town/Y parking lot or within the park now that the gate is open for the season.
Wednesday, April 15 10 a.m. to Noon – Mark Places for Sign Post and Plantings
Sunday, April 19 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. – Dig Planting Holes and Trail Closure
Monday, April 20 9 a.m. to Noon (vacation week) – Plant Native Plants and Blue Trail Signage
Tuesday, April 21 9 a.m. to Noon (vacation week) – Complete Planting and Trail Closure; Litter Cleanup and Invasive Plant Management
Sowams Woods
Wednesday, April 22 9 a.m. to Noon (vacation week) Invasive Plant Work and Trail Paint
Osamequin Nature Preserve with Barrington Garden Club
Wednesday spring project series – 10 a.m. to noon: April 8, May 13 and June 10
Sunday, April 12 1 to 3 p.m.
Projects will include trail maintenance, invasive plant management and litter cleanup.
