Location:

The path to Moussachuck Grove is off Grove Street, a short street just before the end of Appian Way. The path to the beach is at the end of Appian Way. NO PARKING is allowed on Appian Way.

Overview:

Little Moussachuck Grove is a wooded area consisting primarily of oak trees, bordering a southerly section of high salt marsh and coastal beach. The southeasterly border features a creek which runs from Mosher Drive to the Providence River. Purple martins inhabit the area in season, making nests in the gourds erected on large towers on the beach. The land was donated to the Barrington Land Conservation Trust in 1986 by Nancy S. Adams, Wilfred & Melissa Barbeau, Ardath Jenkins, Jean MacCorison, John and Pauline Stiness, George and Muriel Vetter, Maura DiPrete, David DiPrete, Megan DiPrete, Liana Roehner, and Brenna Wilmot. The donors wished for the land to be kept in its natural condition.

Access Level:

Moussachuck Grove and Beach is a public access property, open to the public from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year.

Know Before You Go:

Dogs must be kept on leashes. You may bicycle to the trail, but bikes are not allowed on the hiking trails.

Parking:

There is a small parking area on Grove St. at the end where it intersects with Appian Way. Cars must be parked completely on Land Trust property. Street parking is not allowed on Grove Street or Appian Way.
